Storyboard Description

This is a comic strip of my first reflection. The five Solas.

Storyboard Text

  • Today we are going to talk about the five Solas. I just hope nobody notices how different I look.
  • What is a kid wearing weird clothes doing here?
  • Oh! Hey, Francis! I'm sorry to bother you, but, can you tell me about Sola Scriptura?
  • It means 'Scripture Alone' This is the teaching that the Bible is the only thing that can show us how to live. Don't do what th Bible says not to do is an example. And I suggest you don't wear what you're wearing now.
  • Sure! Faith Alone. In Romans 1:17, it says that we can only get justification by faith alone. It is not by our good works, as Luther discovered. Neither is it by indulgences. But faith.
  • Isn't that the girl that I saw this morning? Well, at least she tried to fit in by changing her clothes...
  • Hello! Would you have time to tell me what 'Sola Fide' means?
  • Yes. Grace Alone. It teaches us that it is only by God's grace we have been saved and given salvation, not by what we do. He loved us before we loved him.
  • Sir Galahad, tanks for inviting me in. Do you know what Sola Gracia means?
  • Christ Alone. It means that it was only through Christ that we got salvation. His death and resurrection.
  • Do you know what Solus Cristus is?
  • Can you tell me about the last Sola?
  • And, that's the end of the 5 SOLAS!!
  • Yep. Soli Deo Gloria. To the Glory of God Alone. It means to give glory to God for how we are saved by his son, the lamb, by his grace alone. We didn't deserve it. But God loved us first.
