It all started here. On the baseball field, April 29th 1938. My team was playing the very religious team, which is one of the best teams. The best batter, Danny Saunders almost took our pitchers head off. Once it was my turn to pitch, Danny hit the ball, and I tried to catch it, and the ball bounced into my face. It shattered my glasses into my eye, and I was taken to the hospital.
I ended up in the hospital for a few days, I had two really nice bed neighbors. I wasn't allowed read for so long, it was hard for me. Danny visited me a few times and we became friends. After my time at the hospital I started to go to house a lot, we were becoming best friends. Luckily, when I got my eye check up ten days later, I was lucky, I wasn't going to be blind in that eye
After a while, Danny and I were always trying to meet up. I often went to his house to have Torah battles with Reb Saunders and Danny. At first I didn't enjoy them, but later I became really good at them and I enjoyed them
Danny went to the library, without his father's permission. He was forbidden to read, but he loved to so he read anyway. Once I knew this, I was shocked, but I didn't tell on him. Later, I found out that his father was recommending books for him to read. Danny was interested in psychology, so he read about that. I later also found out that Reb Saunders knew that Danny was reading, and asked me to spy on Danny for him.
At college, we slowly grew apart, talking to each other less and less. Danny was forbidden to see me, and that was very upsetting. He, of course, majored in psychology, but I didn't really know what I wanted to do until later.
I became a Rabbi!!!! Danny became psychologist, he loved it so much and never gave up on Freund. I'm so happy I have my own shul and people look up to me. I am the Rabbi.
