You look great Trinja!
Deb, how could you say that to me?!?!
It's been a month since the first slimmer booth showed up, and suddenly they started appearing all over town. Everyone is town is using them, and they've all lost a lot of weight, some of them even too much weight. My brother Trevor is still convinced that the slimmers are the work of the aliens, and now Trinja thinks they're a gift from God.
"Deb don't I look wonderful?" Deb asks me while were hanging out in her room. I tell her she looks great, but that's not what I'm thinking. I want to tell her that she needs to stop using the slimmer and get help, because you can see her ribs and her legs are so skinny that I don't even know how they hold her up anymore.
"Actually, Trinja" I say to her, "I think you should stop using the slimmer. I'm worried for your health." Trinja looks at me with an angry expression. "How could you say that! I'm going to use the slimmer again right now just because you said that!" She says before she storms out of her room.
After gathering all of the money she could find, Trinja left her house, not even looking back at me. I follow after her and call out her name, but she ignores me. She starts to walk to the mall, and even though she's still mad at me, I follow after her because she's still my best friend and I need to make sure she stays safe.
We arrive at the Slimmer outside of the mall, and Trinja hands the woman who is working the there the money. The woman counts the money and determines how many pounds Trinja can lose. "Hmm, 13 pounds." she says. Trinja steps into the Slimmer, still looking angry.
I hear the whirring and buzzing of the fat-burning machine. I see the light flashing from the inside. When that all stops, I wait for Trinja to get out, but she never does.
