  • Monday afternoon
  • Can we go see him
  • He is not coming out because he can not take his radio

  • Sheriff Office
  • Kitchen Table
  • Miss Emma and Reverend Ambrose and Grant aunt visiting Jefferson and Paul leads them to the day room and then they find out after making the table he is not coming out because he can not take the radio Grant has given him.
  • Kitchen Table part two
  • Paul takes everyone to the Sheriff office and the Sheriff threatens to take the radio and there visting days if it is a problem and they said it wasn't. This symbolizes that Reverend has to be nice to Grant so they can work together and make him a man. So the Sherrif will not be right
  • school
  • Everyone walks into the kitchen and finds grant at the table. his Aunt questions him and Reverend steps in and talks about how Grant is foolish for bringing him a radio and then Grant rebels about saying he doesn't care what he thinks and his aunt is ready to slap him. This symbolizes that Grant knows better but is tired of the Reverend telling him how to do his job and it all up to grant to help him become a man.

  • Miss Emma stops Grant's aunt from slapping him and Grant tells everyone that the radio is here to help him and he say's take that away and you won't reach him because that radio symbolizes or make him feel like he is not a hog like he been calling himself on every visit he meet with Grant. This symbolizes that Grant cares for him and will not let anybody ruin his relationship with Jefferson
  • Grant tells the kids to bring pecans for Jefferson and they did with paper bags or in their hands. This symbolizes that everyone wishes Jefferson luck and the number one guy in charge is Grant and this shows Grant being more caring towards Jefferson situation
  • Grant meets with Jefferson and then give him the nuts and he asked Jefferson to talk to Miss Emma and Reverend and he says ok. Then he offers Jefferson a notebook so if he wants to ask or talk about anything then he can write it in theirs. Then he says to tell the kid thank you and this symbolizes for Jefferson Hope and for Grant acknowledgment because he finally getting somewhere with him and he can change him.
