  • Helen? HELEN!
  • No. Helen!
  • Why, not a asylum? It'll teach her good, she doesn't have no discipline, so why not?
  • Is there something wrong, do your eyes hurt?
  • No just my ears.
  • This scene takes place after, the Doctor left says that Helen just has acute congestion. When her mother Kate waves her hand over the baby seems to have no reaction to it. She screams startling, Mr. Keller as she still screams Helen still has no effect. They now realize she is Blind-Deaf.
  • It has been 6 1/2 years now. Helen's step brother James, her Aunt, "Aunt Ev" and her Father & Mother are all talking about the now 12 year old Helen and what to do with her. Her, (step) brother says that they should send her to a asylum. Her Mother is taking sympathy, and pity on Helen. Her father Mr. Keller is disagreeing with James and James just wants his fathers satisfaction, but failing.
  • How am I suppose to teach a child how to speak, but she doesn't even know what a word is. All I need is ONE word!
  • Here is Annie, (Miss. Sullivan), she is a stubborn, and opinionated girl. Her mentor and friend Mr. Anagnos is talking about she can't fail her job since this is the start of her new career. She is on a train heading to Alabama, were the Keller family lives. He see's that there is something wrong with Annie, and asks her, "Do your eyes hurt?" She responds with, " No, only my ears."she says.
  • Yes, water! Yes, Helen water!
  • Wah, Waah?
  • Helen is now fighting Annie. Annie believes that Helen is spoiled and that's keeping her away from teaching her. Helen is looking for her mother and her comfort, but she is gone. Annie here in this scene is trying to "tame" Helen and make her eat with a spoon(instead of her hands), and fold her napkin. Later Mr.Keller is feeling a little uneasy with Annie, and her "teaching" styles.
  • It has been two weeks after Mr. Keller told Annie to leave or make Helen tolerate her & to respect him. Annie has taught Helen discipline, but Helen is still lacking the ability to learn what a word is, if not she can't speak,(Hand language). Annie knows that her massive breakthrough would be that Helen learns what ONE, just one word meant.
  • After Helen and Annie, left after Helen returned to the Keller's after the two weeks with Annie teaching Helen. Helen testing her family after coming back, drops her napkin. Annie noticing stops Helen, in Helen's rage throws a pitcher of water onto Annie. Annie takes Helen outside to refill the Pitcher, by using the pump. Helen suddenly takes the water tat is coming out of it and, says, "wah, wah." it was a start but she said water. Annie shocked, quickly gets Helen's hand and spells water. She knows!
