  • I find that the prejudice in this country to color is very great, and I sometimes fear that it is on the increase.
  • Importance
  • Hiram Revels was born sep. 27, 1827. He died january, 16, 1901. He was a minister for almost his whole life. He was also a politician as well as a minister. He was the first color person to serve in the united states senate. During the civil war he helped organize the regiments.
  • Hiram Revels was a president of a collage. He also served a year in the army before he was president of a collage. He also represented the state of Mississippi. He also was a colored man that was able to vote.
  • Hiram Revels was very important because he helped other colored people try to achieve there goals. He also served in the army to protect our country. Another thing that made him important is being the first African American senator.
