Storyboard Text

  • SATURDAY, 14 AUGUST
  • Woohoo!
  • SATURDAY, 4 SEPTEMBER
  • FRIDAY, 17 DECEMBER
  • Saturday-and money to spend. Woohoo! We all pilled into Dad's car and parked around the back of the shops.
  • WEDNESDAY, 23 FEBUARY
  • Out in the street, all the neighbours stood around talking most of the day. There's still no power, so no TV to see how bad things are in the rest of the city. Dad has been listening to the radio though, and the news is not good. It was a massive 7.1 magnitude earthquake near Darfield, just outside Christchurch.
  • FRIDAY, 17 MARCH
  • Today felt really weird. I was excited, but also sad about leaving. It feels safe here. My friends are here and everything I've ever known has been at this school. But on the other hand, I can't wait for Intermediate.
  • WEDNESDAY, 30 MARCH
  • Laura's dad came over tonight. He said they were going to Timaru for a while, but it would be more than likely be for a long time as their house is ruined and unsafe to live in.
  • I went straight to my room. I wanted to be alone to write my diary. I'm hiding it now in a different place every night. I don't want mum or dad to read it and see how scared I really am with all the aftershocks.
  • At choir today, the teacher asked Zoe and I to sing together. We looked at each other and I know Zoe was going to argue with the teacher about it, but I just nudged her and said "Don't. We can do this." I hope like heck I can, because the last person in the world I want to sing with is that bully Zoe, but I also didn't want the teacher to give the chance to anyone else.
