Storyboard Text

  • Once, 4,618 years ago, on the banks of the Indus RIver was Mohenjo-Daro, Pakistan.
  • Hey.
  • Their homes were made of adobe brick and were closely spaced together.
  • The streets are a bit crowded & crooked, but our homes are pretty roomy.
  • The bathrooms in Mohenjo-Daro aren't that different from ours. The toilets had a house drain which flowed into a main drain. They bathed in their homes or in public baths.
  • You're right... this "modern" bathroom isn't all that different from ours!!!
  • The great bath was the earliest water tank in the world. It was made of bricks and might have been for religious purification, similar to baptism.
  • So this ISN'T a pool?
  • Seals were carved out of stone and usually depicted animals or deities, and others were geometric. Some had writing on them.
  • I know these! They were used for marking trade.
  • Mohenjo-Daro traded things such as cotton, pots, gold & silver, gemstones, beads, metals, seashells, and pearls.
  • Yeah. We traded with Mesopotamia through boats a lot.
