  • The digestive system obtains the nutrients needed for survival, but it also takes harmful poisons. The excretory system's job is to get rid of the waste.
  • The large intestine, part of the digestive system, takes takes water out of waste to give to the body so that it doesn't become dehydrated. It also releases undigested waste called feces.
  • Carbon dioxide is another harmful waste product. The lungs release carbon dioxide when you exhale, eliminating it from your body.
  • Urine is another waste product. The kidneys take urea, salt, and excess water from your blood, creating urine. Urine is collected and carried in a balloon-like structure called the bladder and is released when you go to the bathroom.
