  • On page 108-109 it said that Moose was rushing down to the boat in the morning to get to the city where the go to school. In book the kindergarteners on the island went to Mrs. Caconi's apartment where they were taught and looked after for the day by Mrs. Caconi.

  • On page 97 in Al Capone Does My Shirts the author has Moose walk out of the 64 building where he lived and in the story most of the kids lived in the 64 building.
  • Housing on Alcatraz
  • On page 204 Moose and Annie were talking about convict baseballs and how you can get one if they fly over the wall of the rec yard.
  • When children on Alcatraz lived there they did ride a ferry to the city every morning to attend school. When the author wrote about the kindergarteners she was not making that up. The kindergarteners were looked after by one of the mom's on the island.
  • In the author notes the author informs readers that the 64 building was actually a real building and that most families and children did live in it.
  • In the author notes Gennifer Choldenko the author says that the convicts actually played ball and took it quite seriously like it was any other major league game.
