  • Act I
  • "Which ne'er shook hands, nor blade farewell to him, Till he unseamed him from the nave to th' chops,..." (Act I, iii, 21-22).
  • Act II
  • "I have done the deed. Didst thou not hear a noise" (Act II, ii, 14).
  • Act III
  • "There's but one down. The son is fled" (Act III, iii, 20).
  • Macbeth is brave because he was very heroic in the battle in the beginning of the play when he slayed one of the enemies troops.
  • Act IV
  • "He has killed me, mother. Run away, I pray you" (Act IV, ii, 81-82).
  • Macbeth is very ambitious because he is willing to kill King Duncan himself to be crowned king.
  • Act V
  • "They enter fighting, and Macbeth is slain" (Act V, viii, 33).
  • Macbeth is greedy because he is willing to kill someone that he went to battle with and his son to secure his throne.
  • Final Analysis
  • Macbeth is a coward because he is willing to kill Macduff's whole family and anyone who trails him just to save himself and the throne.
  • Macbeth's over ambition and evil deeds caused him to have a major downfall, and that downfall was death.
  • Macbeth had many mistakes leading to his death such as Banquo's murder, Duncan's murder, and the murder of Macduff's family. But his biggest mistake was his arrogance along with his stubbornness.
