Storyboard Text

  • Andrea told her parents that she would like to be identified as a female. Her parents became emotionally abusive, forcing Andrea to no longer feel comfortable in their home.
  • My son is no longer a child of God.
  • I need to get out of here!
  • Andrea still homeless, has one week left to crash at her friends house. She understands her friend's circumstance, but is now left feeling hopeless.
  • It's alright, I appreciate what you've done for me.
  • Sorry Andy. My mom said you have to be out by the end of the week.
  • Speaking with Robert, Andrea is starting to learn the different causes of youth homelessness and the long-term repercussions that can possibly come along with it.
  • Since I dropped out of high school, finding a job and stable housing has been challenging
  • My mom didn't have enough money to raise me, so at 16 I decided to move out.
  • Union Station
  • One week later...
  • Robert, how did you become homeless? Did you run away?
  • After struggling with depression caused by homelessness, Andrea starts having suicidal thoughts. On the roof, she meets fellow street youth that offer to show her how they deal with mental illness using substance abuse.
  • Hey, don't cry! Drink some of this, it will make you feel better.
  • We can show you how to survive living on the streets.
  • Smoke some of this. This will definitely help.
  • A year has gone by and Andra and her friends have created their own family. Although they taught one another how to survive on the streets, they do not have the experience to help each other prepare for professional/academic environments.
  • One year later...
  • Sorry Andrea, we don't know anything about interviews.
  • Guys! I got an opportunity to volunteer as a peer worker! Can you help me prepare for my interview?
  • Andrea's interview was successful. She only needed to provide her personal information before making her position official. Andrea then realized Peter would discover she was homeless and she was too embarrassed to admit the truth.
  • Andrea, you've got the position. Congratulations!
  • I can't let him find out I am homeless.
