This storyboard does not have a description.
Ponyboy tries to understand what Darry has been through, with their parents dying, but sometimes he just doesn't get it. Ponyboy loves Darry, but not as much as Soda, because Darry yells at him and makes things harder for Ponyboy. Darry has once yelled and scared Ponyboy so badly that he ran away, and ended up getting himself in a lot of trouble. Ponyboy comes around a bit, and starts to understand, and he ends the fighting between him and Darry.
When he is hiding out in the church, it feels like a safe spot, where police won't find them. Then when there's a fire at the church, it becomes frantic and horrific. The church has a big impact on Ponyboy because this is the spot that caused Johnny's death. This is also the spot where he gets recognized as a 'hero'. There are no rules here, and it was a 'safe' spot for Johnny and Ponyboy while they were on the run.
When Ponyboy and Johnny are on the run together, they become so much closer, and really gain each others trust. Johnny has made things better for Ponyboy, and always cheered him up, but his death had a huge, devastating impact on Ponyboy. Once Johnny is gone, and isn't there for Ponyboy, Ponyboy's grades start to slip, and he becomes a lot more depressed. Johnny was his best friend, and without him, he doesn't have anyone to lean on.
