Beginning Chlomo Wiesel -Elie's Father -member of the jewish council -refuses to leave Germany at the beginning of the war -48 at the beginning of the story
Moushe The Beadle -poor man that worked for the synagogue -he helped Elie with his studies -Got sent to a camp were he managed to escape -He tried to warn the others in his town of the things he had seen but they did not believe him
Ending Elie Wiesel -16 years old -A-7713 -has been in Auschwitz for 3 years -No longer want to study Judaism -Is the remaining survivor of his family
Ending Chlomo Wiesel -died months before the liberation -51 years old -He supported his son and gave him hope -After being beaten he told his son to not seek revenge -his last words were Elie's name while being killed by Meir
Akiba Drumer -Prisoner at Buna -looses faith and the will to live -requests that Elie and his friends say Kaddish for his (they don't) -After loosing the will to live and to work he failed the selection and was sent to the crematorium .
