  • Fortunato has insulted me for the last time! He deserves to die for all the times he has insulted me.
  • Your tea is ready Montresser.

  • I know how I can get revenge! I'll lore him into my house with wine, then kill him!

  • In the short story "The Cask of Amontillado" the main character Montresor is tired of the rich Fortunato insulting his family. So he thinks of a way to kill him, as revenge for insulting his family.

  • Montresser's revenge is justified.
  • Analysis
  • It's this way.
  • Montresser's revenge is justified because Fortunato and his family had made fun of Montressor and his family so many times that Montresser reached his breaking point. He felt that Fortunato need to pay for doing so with death.
  • Conclusion
  • Why Montresser! I thought we were friends. :(
  • Nope.
  • Montresser states on pg 27 "Fontunato had no reason to think that I meant him harm. I continued to smile when ever we met. He had idea that I was smiling at the thought of his death."
  • Hey friend, want some Amontillado its at my house. ;)
  • This shows that Montresser was so mad at Fotunato, that he would even murder him, for mockery he did to Montresser and his family.

  • Montresser was so tired of Fortunato teasing him, that it was no surprise murder was on his mind.
