Storyboard Text

  • David was Jesse's youngest son. He spent his time in the paddock. Grazing sheep, playing his harp and thinking about God.
  • Samuel had the lord see 7 of Jesse's sons but he said none of them fit to be king. Jesse found young David and God said "Arise, anoint him, for this is the one whom I have chosen."
  • Whenever Saul's dark moods came to him, David would play his harp and he would feel pleasant instantly.
  • King Saul was no longer blessed by the lord because of his wrongdoing, but he still held reign of Israel. He was told that a young musical boy would save him from troubles, so his servant said "I have seen a young man, a so of Jesse from Bethlehem. He is Handsome, a strong fighter and the lord is with him." They brought him to King Saul.
  • Throughout Saul's reign, There was constant war with the Philistines. the Philistines and the Israelis had camps on opposite sides of the valley of Elah. Everyday a giant man from the Philistine's army called Goliath would challenge the Israelites to fight him, but they were far too scared.
  • Choose one of your men, make him come out and fight with me. If I kill him; then you shall bow to us; and if he kills me, then we will bow to you!
  • Goliath laughed down at David, thinking he could smash him to smithereens. Before he could do anything David sprinted up to him, instead of using his staff he slung a stone at Goliath's forehead and he fell to the ground. He took the great giants sword and killed him.
  • David decided that he were to go out and defeat the great giant. He had only his staff a sling shot and 5 smooth rocks.
  • So in that day David won a great victory and stood before all the land as the one who had saved his people from their enemies. He won the friendship of Saul's son, Jonathan and Saul's daughter as his wife.
