Storyboard Text

  • One last trait is determined because he wants to prove why he hates time using science.
  • Another trait for Gilbert is curious as he wants to know why time seems to fly through summer and go slow during winter
  • Gilbert is a smart boy as he knows a lot about time and can strike others as dumb.
  • Gilbert's father is his motivation. We know because every time his father laughs, it's like his birthday, Christmas, and a day on the beach rolled into one
  • Another way we know Gilbert motivates his actions is because when the kids were going out on a journey to the sea, Gilbert brought his dads items to help him.
  • One life changing event in Gilbert's life is his mom dying when Gilbert was born. Another hard moment in Gilbert's life was his father going out to sea during the winter like he usually does, but unfortunately was killed one time out there.
  • One last life changing event was Mrs. Curie not delivering the letter he so eagerly needs to save him from geography.
  • At the start of the story, Gilbert was in the past. He is located in a tree house with all his siblings, talking about the speed of time.
  • At the end of the story, Gilbert is somewhere in the 1900s. Gilbert is spotted in the handcar with all his siblings.
  • By the end of the story, Gilbert has changed because he realized time doesn't move faster during summer and not winter. We know this because time passed, then stopped, and then started passing again.
  • This is a big difference because at the start, Gilbert hated time as he always thought it went by fast during summer, and slow during winter.
