Storyboard Description

Lawyers often have clients whom they do not unequivocally believe to be innocent or at the very least completely innocent. A lawyer must use there forensic judgement and skills learnt through tertiary studies and practical training whilst adhering to codes, regulations and legislation to fulfill their obligations as a solicitor to the courts serve justice and to their clients, to act in their best interests. It is the defences duty to defend; It is the prosecutions duty to prosecute and; It is the courts duty to determine by adhering to procedure, natural justice to make a determination. Although there maybe ethical differences a solicitor must according to the standard conferred upon any other solicitor. If a solicitor does not act according, they maybe punished for their failure to act or obstructing justice

  • THE DUTIES OF A SOLICITOR:
  • Solicitors have multiple consultations with clients, which not all of whom are always innocent
  • A client may plead and plead with their solicitor that they are innocent, although it is up to the solicitor to use their forensic judgement in making his decision surrounding the truth
  • Solicitors in Australia & Canada must use skills acquired through tertiary studies and practical training. Adhering Codes, legislation and Regulations applicable to their legal profession. Occasionally setting aside moral differences
  • If a solicitor represents a client, they must abide by their obligations to the court, administration of justice and their clients best wishes amongst other duties
  • If a solicitor is deemed to have acted in such away that it amounts to a breach a of duty. The solicitor can be investigated, summoned to court, punished and even have their practicing licence removed
