This storyboard does not have a description.
Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones was walking alone at night from work in Harlem, New York.
Roger, a young teenager, tried to snatch her purse, but he failed, and Mrs. Jones grabbed him and wouldn't let him go. She realizes that he doesn't know right from wrong.
She dragged Roger to her house. He tries to struggle free, but is dragged into Mrs. Jones' home. She turns Roger loose to go to the sink and wash his face.
Mrs. Jones leaves Roger unattended giving him the choice to run or stay. He looks at the door, then the sink, and back to the door. He decides to stay and washes his face.
Roger learns that Mrs. Jones has made mistakes in her life, too. He explains that he stole the money to buy blue suede shoes. She continues to take care of his needs like a mother would, and they both sat down to eat together. Roger offers to go to the store for her because he wants to earn her trust.
Mrs. Jones gives Roger $10 to buy blue suede shoes. He thanks her, and she shuts the door. He realizes he learned a lesson from Mrs. Jones.
