there was one an old carpenter called Oswald and he had married a young, beautiful woman call Alison, who everyone was in love with - she was not scared to show all of the men that she was. She couldn't be more flirtatious. Although most of the the time she was joking, poor Absalaom was all ready to elope with whenever she was ready to go with him. But Nicholas was, their lodger, was different.
Oswald was extremely aware that other men were eye-balling Alison so he would never let her go out alone and never trusted her with another man, except from Nicholas - saying that he was a sensible, educated man. But Nicholas betrayed Oswald and was having an affair with Alison behind his back. And while he was having the affair with Alison, he came up with a plan to get ride of Oswald. He told Alison and hide in his room for a fortnight.
Three days later, Oswald asked wee Nicholas was and Alison said that he was locked in his room. He was horrified and threw himself at his door shouted his name until the hinges fell off the door. Nicholas sat up strait, looking dazed. He said that the angels had visited he and the end of the world is coming to an end, the same way Noah's Ark went. There was a flood coming.
Nicholas call that Oswald collect 3 watertight barrels in the roof, sit in one until the flood came. While he was dozing in the barrel, Nicholas and Alison fell into each others arms and kissed in the darkest of hours until someone came to interrupt...
Absalom had paid a visit, filling the air with sweet nicknames for his 'sweet Alison' - asking for a kiss from her. Worrying about the carpenter, she asked Nicholas what to do. And as if by magic, the voice of an old man came calling if the flood had come. Alison replied with a 'no'. Absalom felt the tickle of a beard and heard the giggle of Alison and ran for the hills. Absalom cam back again with a pitchfork and as he asked for another kiss, yet again Nicholas came to the window with his trousers down and was stabbed in the bottom.
'Water, WATER!' Nicholas shouts, running around the room. Not realising what was happening, Oswald cuts the ropes of the barrels, thinking that he was going to land in water. He landed on the ground with a thump next to Alison and Nicholas, screaming that a flood was coming. The whole neighbourhood was watching.
