Storyboard Text

  • Takes place in a penthouse apartment after dark. Two men meet to discuss a wager over one of the men's wife. She had been having an affair and now her husband wishes to seek revenge on the other man.
  • Exposition
  • I never welsh
  • Cressner informs Norris that he has moved his car and had drugs planted in it. He threatens that if Norris doesn't accept the wager of walking around the building on the ledge, a call will be made to the police.
  • Conflict
  • Fearing he may have to return to jail, Norris accepts and begins walking along the ledge around the building. Cressner awaits his return in the penthouse.
  • Rising Action
  • To Cressner's surprise, Norris safely returns. He tries to leave with the money when Cressner tells him Marcia will still die. Norris steals the gun from Tony while Cressner tries to escape. Norris tells him he will live only if he can survive the same ledge walk.
  • Climax
  • Falling Action
  • Knowing it is his only chance at living, Cressner descends from the balcony and begins the walk along the ledge.
  • Resolution
  • Norris awaits Cressner's return. The reader is left unaware if Cressner makes around the building or not. We do know however, that unlike Cressner, Norris does welsh on a bet leading us to think he will still shoot Cressner.
