Where the Legend Began
Radley pecans will kill you! (Lee 9)
Kills cats and eats them, blood stained hands, scar on his face... (Lee 13)
the younger Radley boy ... became acquainted with some of the Cunninghams... they formed a gang ... Mr Radley’s boy was not seen again for fifteen years... Boo drove the scissors into his parent’s leg...The sheriff hadn’t the heart to put him in jail..so Boo was locked in the courthouse basement.(Lee 10-11)
The Legend was most likely started by children. I think this because the description of Boo Radley is very over exaggerated and monsterized. They probably described him this way due to his weird nature of staying in his home.
Boo is a normal kind man.“Yes ma’am, blanket. It isn’t ours.”...“Looks like all of Maycomb was out tonight, in one way or another.(Lee 73-74) He is alive and creative. They’d been sewed up. Not like a lady sewed ‘em, like somethin’ I’d try to do. All crooked...I pulled out two small images carved in soap. One was the figure of a boy, the other wore a crude dress...(Lee 59-61)
