  • Rising Action
  • I'm scared! What if it doesn't work?
  • Wake up, Icarus! Put on these wings. We are going to fly out of Crete!
  • Have courage, Icarus. Just don't fly too high to the sun.
  • Daedulus had built a palace for the king with a maze in the cellar. It had many corridors and even a Minotaur which no man could escape except for Daedulus himself. Daedulus wanted to leave Crete but King Minos wouldn't let him. He said that Daedulus was the only one who knew the whole maze. So King Minos ordered him and his son Icarus to stay in Crete until he died.
  • Climax
  • Daeduls was trying to figure a way to leave Crete. Then his son Icarus made a joke about it, saying that they could find a way to fly out of Crete. Daedulus did not answer, thinking that it could work when he saw the bird at the window.
  • Falling Action
  • Daedulus asked the bird to spare a feather each day if he gave it seeds until he had enough feathers. Then he made the greatest invention of all. He woke up Icarus and showed him his invention, two sets of wings. He told Icarus to put the wings on and to fly out of Crete. He told him to not fly too high or he will be burned by the sun.
  • Resolution
  • SPLASH!!
  • When Icarus was nudged off the windowsill, he knew then that he was flying. He flew over the sea with the seagulls as they pecked at him angrily. He started to fly higher and taunted the birds with their own cry. He was so determined that he couldn't hear his father calling to him to not fly too close to the sun. Then Icarus started he started to fly too close to the sun. As the wax started to melt from his wings, he noticed that he was starting to slowly fall.
  • Help!
  • The guards caught sight of Daedulus and Icarus flying out of Crete and rushed to King Minos to tell him the news.
  • Daedulus and Icarus are, well, they are flying out of Crete!
  • Don't just stand there. Get them!
  • Icarus began to plummet down towards the sea. He hurtled head first into the sea as his father, Daedulus, watched him sink beneath the water towards the sharks, eels, and squids.
