It was brilliant and the sandy cove, It circled gently in the wave, All miserable were the boring coves, And the fool's rath outrage.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! The furious Bandersnatch!"
He took his violent sward in hand; Long time the man enemy he saw So he rested by the tumtum tree And stood a while in thought.
And, as in foolish thought he stood The jabberwocky, with eyes of flame Came flying through the tangly woods And bled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through The violent blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galloping back.
"And have they killed the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my cheerful boy! o wonderful day! Callooh! Callay!" he laughed in his joy.
