Daedalus the father of Icarus were both in prison and wanted to be free. Daedalus was a very good architect at the time.
Daedalus gathered feathers and strong wax and created wings for him and Icarus. They used them to fly away.
With the wings they were going to fly to Sicily for freedom. They were flying over the Aegean sea on a beautiful sunny day.
Daedalus told Icarus not to fly too close to the sun. Icarus who was to excited to be free did not listen to his father.
Up, and up, and up Icarus went. Daedalus could not do anything at this point to stop Icarus. And now he started seeing feathers fall from Icarus's wings.
The wax from Icarus's wings had melted and he fell into the sea. Daedalus knowing that he could not live falling from that high went on his way to Sicily without looking back.
