This mountain is formed when continental crust collides into one another due to convergent boundaries which is when two tectonic plates hit eachother head on.
Under this seemingly calm sea it is quite a rush as convergent boundaries cause a magnificent natural occurrence. When the force of convergent boundaries pushes oceanic crust together this causes subduction which also forms a deep open trench because of the higher density "greater weight"
When the force of the plate tectonics moving toward each other (convergent boundaries) occurs with oceanic and continental crust this causes a deep open trench to occur *subduction* in the ocean
Divergent boundaries cause the earth's tectonic plates to pull apart and when this happens this causes "sea floor spreading" and creates the mid-ocean ridge. This also causes magma from the earth's mantle to seep through the part the oceanic crust makes, due to divergent boundaries.
Divergent boundaries cause rift valleys to form. This is when continental crust pulls apart at divergent boundaries.
When divergent boundaries occur and pull this land apart it will turn from flat ground to layered, these layers form at the fault lines already embedded in the continental crust.
