Clara will spend the next two years missing out on school to nurse her first patient.
My brother, David, got hurt helping raise the barn.
In 1854, Clara got a job in the U.S. Patent Office, but was treated poorly by her male coworkers.
I've brought supplies for the wounded being housed here in the unfinished Capitol Building

At 83 years old, I hereby retire from the Red Cross, but I will henceforth continue to fight for women's suffrage!
And so she did until her death on April 12, 1912.
