  • We lived along the Indus River in modern Pakistan. We lived from 3300- 1600 B.C.
  • Welcome to Mohenjo-Daro!
  • We don't have any windows facing the street in our homes so we can keep out dust and noise.
  • We spend a lot of time up on our roofs so we can relax and it serves as an extra room and it is a cool place to sleep.
  • Toilets
  • Our toilets were "flushed" by pouring water into the toilet.
  • In our shower rooms we dumped water over our heads.
  • Shower rooms
  • The Great Bath is often used during the morning, but also before someone goes into a temple or religious site. Some rivers, such as the Ganges River, are believed to be holy to the Hindu religion.

  • A seal is a stamp pressed into wet clay to make an impression. We used them to show ownership of something such as a letter or receipt.
  • Welcome to the World of Seals
  • When we trade with other countries we trade with terracotta pots, gems, metals, seashells and pearls.
  • We traders are responsible for giving supplies to countries while taking supplies for other countries that need them.
