  • the poem is about a man and a talking bird but the real meaning of the poem is about a black bird and the bad luck it will bring the man.

  • attitude: is depressing angry and fearful the man is sad about losing lenore and angry because the raven is not giving him answers. Tone: Melancholy

  • a shift occurs when the man's mental state has gotten and emphasizes desire for answers and being frustrated for not getting answers.
  • the poem will most likely have to do with death, since ravens symbolize death.
  • despite of death being painful and sad, one must not dwell on the death, because if they do worse emotions will fall on them.
