For Meyer's class
Hey, I'm Sarah! I've been living here for quite a while and I've noticed some pretty neat stuff around my house. I live in Africa!
So if you don't mind, I'd like to show you the awesome stuff around here!
You see the brown parts of the dirt? That's not just D-I-R-T. It's something called alluvial soil. It's pretty neat. This is where rich soil is at and it's made up of mud and sand! This is all deposited running water.
Now I need to walk along the Sahel. Fun fact!! This is also known as the African Transition Zone.
In order for me to get to the town I'd like to go to, I also need to pass by a delta!
This is a Sahel! It is a bridge of land that is going from one side to another.
This is the delta! The delta is formed by sand and silt and it is downstream. We are at the mouth of the river where it is deposited.
These are one of the many deserts in Africa! In the desert, I need to be careful of harmattan.
