Storyboard Text

  • What a beautiful day it is! But I have one question- why is the sky blue?
  • I don't know, but why do we use parallel and perpendicular lines?
  • Oh yeah that reminded me, I need help with that for 8th grade coming up soon.
  • Okay, here's an easy one for you to practice!
  • OK!!!!!!!
  • y = -5/4x + 10. Find the perpendicular line that passes through the line (0,17).
  • To solve for the slope, you have to use the negative reciprocal. -5/4 will turn into 4/5.
  • To solve for y-intercept, look at the point, 0,17. X=0, Y=17.
  • So the answer to that problem should be.   y=4/5x + 17
  • Woohoo!!!! Thank you for helping me with with math!!!
  • Yes, that's it. That's correct. I think you are ok for 8th grade now.
  • Hey, that's no fair, you get a head start!!!!!
  • I'll race you to the finish line!!!
