  • First what happened was the French and Indian War.
  • This happened because the French and the British were fighting over land but instead the Indians ended up fighting for their land.
  • Then came the Sugar Act.
  • The colonists needed sugar a lot and so the British decided they could make lots of money if they taxed the colonists if they wanted to buy sugar.
  • Then came the Stamp Act.
  • The British thought they could make even more money if they made the colonists buy a stamp to buy certain items like paper,envelopes and other things made with paper.
  • Next came the Townshend Acts.
  • The colonists bought tea a lot and the British decided to tax them for it but the money would be used to pay for British Royalty salaries and for British troops living in America.
  • The Boston Massacre was next.
  • The Boston Massacre was a street fight and 5 colonists died along with 6 injured.
  • All of these events lead up to the American Revolution.
