Storyboard Text

  • Hector: The lead Trojan warrior, son of Priam, Prince of Troy. Achilles: He is the strongest and bravest warrior. King Priam: King of Troy, father of Hector.
  • The theme for Book 22 is that pride leads to glory or disaster. In this book, "The Illiad Book 22: The Slaying of Hector" Hector states that " it would be far better for me to stay here and meet the great Achilles, and either slay him , or, if it must be so, be slain by him."
  • Achilles slays Hector because Hector slayed his best friend, Patroclus. Because of this Achilles wants revenge and he intends to get it. After Achilles slays Hector, instead of respecting his body and giving him a proper burial like he asked, he attaches Hectors dead body to a chariot and drags him around for everyone to see.
