Michael Faraday. Michael Faraday FRS (/ˈfæ.rəˌdeɪ/; 22 September 1791 – 25 August 1867) was an English scientist who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. His main discoveries include the principles underlying electromagnetic induction, diamagnetism and electrolysis.
He subscribed to the wave theory of light and was against the corpuscular theory. The work done by Ampere in the field of Electromagnetism was his greatest contribution. In September 1820 a Danish scientist named Hans Christian Orsted produced some experimental results in the field of magnetism.
Heinrich Hertz. Heinrich Rudolf Hertz (German: [hɛɐʦ]; 22 February 1857 – 1 January 1894) was a German physicist who first conclusively proved the existence of electromagnetic waves theorized by James Clerk Maxwell's electromagnetic theory of light.
