John Von Neumann was born in December 28, 1903, Budapest, Hungary. He first lived in Hungary but then moved to America
Neumann grew up in a Jewish family. His father, Miksa Neumann, was a banker, and his mother, born Margit Kann, came from a family that sold farm ingequipment. Neumann learned languages and math from tutors and went to Budapest’s most prestigious secondary school.
Upon completion of Neumann’s secondary schooling in 1921, his father discouraged him from pursuing a career in mathematics, fearing that there was not enough money in the field. As a compromise, Von Neumann simultaneously studied chemistry and mathematics.
Marina von Neumann Whitman was his daughter and he was married two times, first Mariette Kövesi and then Klara Dan von Neumann
Neumann was famous for his discovery in the math of nuclear weapons in World War II. He later worked in the U.S Army.
