Storyboard Text

  • Okay we'll study at Brett's house tonight!
  • Okay class, you three need to study for tomorrows quiz.
  • A bill is a proposed law, and members of congress introduce them.
  • After the bill goes through the house it goes through the senate, and then it goes to the president.
  • In committee the decision is made to move the bill forward in legislature or not.
  • When a bill makes it out of committee it is given two readings and then it is sent to the rules committee.
  • Both the House and the Senate have to pass the bill fot it to get to the president.
  • A bill can be talked to death by the senate if certain individuals do not want it to pass.
  • Once a bill gets to the president he can choose to pass it or veto it.
  • Mr. Blackybut tells the boys about the pop quiz he is assigning tomorrow on how a bill becomes a law.
  • So the president can choose to veto the bill if he does not approve of it.
  • If congress upholds a 2/3 vote to negate the veto then the bill will still pass.
  • The boys study all night so that they can get a good grade on their quiz the next day.
  • We're going to ace this quiz!
  • The boys are still studying on the ride to the school.
  • Congrats class, you all got 100s on the "How a Bill Becomes a Law" quiz!
  • The boys do some last minute review to make sure they are completely prepared for the quiz.
  • Once they get back to school there is no doubt in their minds that they've studied hard enough to ace this quiz.
  • And sure enough all of the hard work paid off and all three of the boys got a 100.
