  • The emergency banking act was an act that made it so that after a five day period, only trustworthy banks would be open. This made it so the citizens of America could trust that their money would be safe with the banks.

  • The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was created to enforce security laws and acted as an eye on the stock market to keep it from crashing again.

  • The Agricultural adjustment act required that farmers destroy 10 million acres total and 6 million pigs. This caused prices to go up and hurt farms. The supreme court eventually ruled it unconstitutional.
  • Fireside Chats
  • The Fair Labor Standards Act was a pivotal help to the workforce. It did things like set a minimum wage and ban child labor. This act allowed those who had jobs to prosper and prevented unethical treatment of workers.
  • The Civilian conservation corp gave millions of unemployed men jobs and stable salaries. This was a key part of allowing people to literally work their way out of the depression.
  • The fireside chats were FDR's way of communicating things to Citizens. His talks were effective at putting hope back into peoples hearts and preventing them from giving up.
