Mohammad Ramjan lived in Kolkata, British India where his father worked as a police officer for the British government.
Throughout his childhood, Mohammad witnessed many violent riots in his hometown.
There was such a surplus of corpses that they were taken away by trucks.
In order to save themselves, Mohammad and his family hid in a graveyard for two whole days.
Once it was safe to do so, Mohammad and his family took a train to Dhaka, East Pakistan.
There, his father became a taxi driver until the end of the war in 1971 when they moved to the Geneva camp in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
