Falling Action: Curley is ready to kill Lennie for killing his wife.
"Curley's face reddened. 'I'm goin',' he said. 'I'm gonna shoot the guts outa [Lennie] myself, even if I only got one hand. I'm gonna get 'im.'" Steinbeck, p. 48
Falling Action: George tells Lennie about the rabbit farm they are going to have one day. When Lennie is thinking about this, George shoots him in the head and kills him.
"And George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie's head...He puled the trigger...Lennie jarred, and then settled slowly forward to the sand, and he lay without quivering." Steinbeck, p. 53
Denouement: Slim comforts George after Lennie's death.
"Slim said, 'You hadda, George. I swear you hadda.'" Steinbeck, p. 53
