  • Hi! Today I'm going to tell you about how yoghurt is made. It is made using a bacteria called 'lactobacillus' Lets Begin!
  • Pasteurize milk by heating it to kill harmful bacteria.
  • Add Lactobacillus bacteria to milk.
  • Incubate at around 45*C for five hours.
  • The bacteria produces an enzyme called lactase which acts on milk sugar lactose. Lactose is converted to lactic acid.
  • The lactic acid curdles the milk to form yoghurt and gives it a sour taste. And with this your yoghurt is ready! This also tells us how bacteria is important in our daily life.
