Hi! Today I'm going to tell you about how yoghurt is made. It is made using a bacteria called 'lactobacillus' Lets Begin!
Pasteurize milk by heating it to kill harmful bacteria.
Add Lactobacillus bacteria to milk.
Incubate at around 45*C for five hours.
The bacteria produces an enzyme called lactase which acts on milk sugar lactose. Lactose is converted to lactic acid.
The lactic acid curdles the milk to form yoghurt and gives it a sour taste. And with this your yoghurt is ready! This also tells us how bacteria is important in our daily life.
