Life on the Homefront of the South
This storyboard does not have a description.
Women and children took over men's tasks in the South after the men went off to war.
Women often served as teachers, nurses, clerks, etc. They also took care of the farm.
The South had it harder because everything was being destroyed and they didn't have many supplies, so without the women and children, the South would have never gotten as far as they did through the war.
That's all you're getting!!!!
Prices started inflating in the South, so everything was too expensive to buy. People started protesting to Jefferson Davis, he threw his pocket change at them and said that that was all that they were getting.
The women and children helped our nation a lot because they took care of the South. Without them, the South would have been harder to reconstrust.
What should I write about this time?
People on the homefront would often write to their loved ones on the battle field to keep in touch and make sure they were okay.
