I don't need to worry about math. I never liked it anyway.
Identification: John wants to be the best basketball player in the school, but he has a long way to go. He decides to do the same things as his favorite basketball player: LeBron James.
I'm never studying for a test ever again!!!
This isn't how a high school sophomore should be acting,
Projection: The next day, John fails a math test that he didn't study for because he was playing basketball until midnight the night before.
Can this day get any worse?
Rationalization: John's mother sees that he failed a test. She asks why and John replies that his focus is now on basketball and only basketball.
Displacement: John still doesn't believe in studying for test, so he begins to yell at his little sister.
Regression: To calm her son down, John's mother suggests that they play a board game. When John loses, he decides to throw the board in anger.
