Storyboard Text

  • Symbol: Mice
  • Character: Lennie
  • Theme: Friendship
  • Mice are very small creatures, sometimes fluffy and sometimes not so fluffy. But in the eyes of a child it is a cute little furry creature which gives an opportunity to love it and pet it uncontrollably. As for Lennie the childish giant, he sees every mouse as a tiny little friend and all he wants to do is pet it. Unfortunately for Lennie's size he always ends up petting them too hard and squishing the innocent little mice. Mice portray his very child like heart and personality.
  • Symbol: The Rabbits
  • Lennie is a gentle giant, he is not very smart so he needs George to guide him. Lennie is always getting George in trouble which leads to them getting "canned" from every job they get. Lennie is a child at heart and does not understand the difference between life and death, for example he retrieved a dead mouse so he could pet it and keep it in his pocket. He is a very large man who is sensitive so he gets picked on by other workers when he only wants peace.
  • Character: George
  • Lennie and George show the strongest kind of friendship out there. Lennie is like a huge, immature baby and as you can imagine that would be quite difficult to handle as a friend. Through the thick and thin no matter what George has always been there for Lennie, no matter how much he annoyed him or made him want to smash his head into a wall, George never left his side. Until the day he had no other choice.
  • Theme: friendship
  • Lennie and George constantly spoke of the rabbits, they spoke of them so much that others wanted in. Lennie loved to talk about the rabbits because it was an escape from their rough lives. It was their happy place, their safe place. It is where George put Lennie before he shot him. The rabbits represented their plan to get a house together, make their own families, and hire their own men, the rabbits represented their dream.
  • George is one of the main Characters in of mice and men, he in or mentioned in every scene, he is very smart and the exact opposite of Lennie, he takes care of Lennie and tries to keep him out of trouble. Without Lennie George could be successful, but for some reason George lets Lennie follow him around and will help Lennie escape when he does bad things. George is the only reason Lennie has survived.
  • At the end of chapter 6, the end of the book, George has to go find Lennie, since he killed the boss's sons wife, George knows what he has to do. George has to shoot Lennie, before Curley does. George knows Lennie has no chance, so he decides he must kill Lennie instead of Curley, so Lennie will not die scared, he will die clueless. George tells Lennie about the rabbits, and then shoots him in the head. Which ends a very special friendship.. but also starts a new one, after George shoots Lennie, Slim takes George for a drink..
