Thor (the god of thunder and protected of Midgard) was born to Odin (King of the gods) and Jord ("Earth" A giantess).
Sif (goddess of grin and fertility) is the wife of Thor. She gave Thor a stepson (Ullr: god of winter) and a daughter (a Valkyrie and the goddess of storm and clouds).
One day, when Loki couldn't help being bad, he cut off all of Sif's hair. After seeing what Loki had done, the horrified Sif when to her husband. Thor was so enraged at what Loki had done, Thor begin to beat Loki until he promised to fix his mess.
Thor is famous for two thing, his hammer and his belt. Thor received these from Loki, who got them from the dwarves. Loki went to the dwarves and convinced them to make a new head of hair for Sif, but ended up making a deal with Brokk and Sindi. The deal was that if they could make better gifts they could have his head.
In Norse mythology, it is said that the seasons change because of some giants. People believed that when winter came, the giants were coming down the mountains and summer came, that ment that Thor had fought them off.
Thor's number one nemesis was Jormungand (a serpent that encircles the would). Thor and Jormungand have fought many time, but either of them has defeated other.
