Storyboard Text

  • It apperars that there is going to be a solar eclipse today and the path of totality is right upon us.
  • We should get a pair of Eclipse glasses if we want to watch it
  • Hello, may I have a pair of eclipse glasess please.
  • Here you go.
  • Thank you.
  • Goodbye, hope you enjoy!
  • OK, lets put our glasses on and wait for the eclipse
  • As the eclipse starting, what will happen is that the moon will block all sunlight since it looks like the sun and moon are the same size so it looks like they are perfectly aligned.  Therefore it will cast a shadow called a path of totality across Earth's surface. The very middle is called the umbra and the outer shadow is called the penumbra.
  • Even when the sun is covered you still want to keep your glasses on just in case for eye saftey. But now we are expiriencing a total solar eclipse.
  • Now that the eclipse is over you can take of your glasses but WITHOUT looking at the sun. The solar eclipse has ended and there won't be a need for eclipse glasses for about 25 years.
