The first gap is when cells grow in size. New proteins and organelles are made.
What about the S phase and G2 phase ?
The synthesis phase is when DNA is replicated which is knows as chromatin! The G2 or Second gap phase is the imitation of chromosomes formation. Synthesis of enzymes and structural formation. The centrioles also move to opposite ends of the cell.
The next step is M and C phases right?
Yes, it is. M and C phases are the actual cell division. Two identical "daughter cells" are created through division.
Wow, that is so interesting!
Prophase is the second phase, and in this, chromatin condenses to form paired chromosomes. Centrioles move to each pole, nucleus disappears and the nuclear membrane breaks down.
