Aryans were originally from the area around the Caspian Sea in Central Asia. Historians believe that Aryans had migrated through the Hindu Kush mountains, slowly working there way southeast into the Ganges Valley in around 2000 BC.
The first Aryan settlers didn't read or write, so they memorized religous poems and hymmns, such as Vedas. These works were written in Sanskrit, which is the most important language in India even though it is not spoken in India today. People eventually leafrned how to write this beautiful language, and these records are a major source of info for Aryans. Along with Vedas, other sacred epic books arrived, such as the Mahabharata which I am holding in my hands this moment. Religious rituals were also written down-speaking of let's talk about religion!
Vedas-sound familiar-were religious rituals used by the Aryans. The Aryans believed in many different gods and had many ceremonies. These acts of pray turned into hinduism, one of the primary religions in India today. Well, that's it folks, hope you enjoyed your tour!
