Storyboard Text

  • Its so amazing that all of the plants in the fields start out as seeds. How do the go from so small to so large.
  • Cell
  • All cells grow, develop, and repair using a process named Cell division. The first stage of the cell cycle is Interphase. In interphase the cell performs normal life functions but at the very end duplicates its DNA
  • Nuclear Membrane
  • DNA
  • Chromosomes
  • After Interphase the cell begins Mitosis. The first section is known as prophase. During Prophase chromosomes form, spindle fibers form, and the nuclear membrane disappears.
  • Farmer Joe told us our plants have three chromosomes.
  • }{ }{ }{
  • Centrioles
  • Spindle fibers
  • Then comes Metaphase. In Metaphase the chromosomes line up ing the middle and the spindle fibers attach.
  • }{ }{ }{
  • Thats easy to remember because M stands for Middle.
  • The next part is called Anaphase. During anaphase the Spindle fibers pull chromosomes to each side of the cell.
  • Whats the next step?

  • The final section of mitosis is Telophase. During Telophase the nuclear membranes reappear, the DNA becomes loose strands, and the membrane begins to pinch.
  • When do the cells actually seperate

  • And thats the CELL CYCLE!!!!
  • The final stage is cytokinesis when the membrane splits and two new daughter cells are created.
