  • The Rose boys constantly get into fights with each other. Sunday night a big quarrel occurs. The younger one, Gavin Rose, storms out of the house. He heads to his usual place, the gutter.
  • I'm right!
  • Blah, blah, blah. No!
  • Blah, blah, blah. No!
  • 2
  • Ed approaches Gavin at his normal spot. Ed grabs him by the collar and begins to pummel him. Punching him wherever. Gavin begs for mercy but Ed continues. The young boy receives one last kick to the gut and Ed flees to the phone booth.
  • Don't look him in the eyes. He'll be fine.
  • Ed arrives at the phone booth only to see a teenage girl using it. He persuades her to let him use it. Then, Ed dials the Rose's number and Daniel Rose picks up, Gavin's older brother. Ed notifies Daniel his brother is badly hurt and must help him. Ed goes back to the gutter.

  • Don't kill me, don't kill me.
  • I need to use the phone booth right now! It's an emergency.
  • I'll have to call you back later...
  • Fine.

  • Daniel finds Gavin. He puts his arm around him and helps him up. Instead of fighting his younger brother he's supporting him. Ed watches from a distance, he sees his job is done and takes off.
  • You will be okay. Come on let's get you home. We'll get who ever did this back.
  • Okay, thank you.

  • To make sure Ed completed his tasks he goes back to the rock. The rock has the three names of those Ed helped and check marks near each to show he completed his job with them. Gavin's name was the only one missing a check. Ed becomes worried.

  • Thursday night Ed leaves his home for sleeping pills and he spots a group of boys. They follow him. Soon enough they throw Ed into an alley and begin beating him up. It's the Rose boys and their squad. Ed doesn't resist. When he revisits the rock the check is there.
