The Running Dream Journal 2
Destiny Jessica's destiny is to run. She was born a runner, her whole life she's loved it, unlike her sister or parents. There's something about running the makes Jess just feel 'right.' All Jessica wants is to run again, but her leg has become quite the road block. By now her teammates have raised a sizable chunk of cash for her new running leg and she is starting to walk on her new leg slowly but surely.
Quest/ Journey Jessica is faced with many different conflicts, including, problems with algebra, which she gets help with from Rosa, dealing with seeing her teammates compete without her, and just doing every day things with her new leg. Jessica is supposed to learn that all things happen for a reason. Losing her leg was horrible and is hindering her now but I think she will later realize that it was somewhat a good thing.
Characteristics, Personal Traits Physically, Jessica is fit and tall and is missing a leg. Mentally, Jessica is always fighting herself to become better than she was or just beating herself up about losing her leg and about not doing so good in algebra. Emotionally, Jessica is fairly stable, sometimes everyday life or certain situations are too much to handle but with her friends and family by her side she gets by just fine.
Temptations/ Loneliness/ Heroic Flaws Jessica's journey is harder than it should be because of her physical flaw, her amputated leg. Jessica faces the temptation to quit many times, but she doesn't let herself. Especially when she gets her new prosthetic leg, it's hard for her to get around and she just doesn't look right when walking, like Chloe, Hank's assistant.
